How SFL Today gathers, attributes, and publishes
Two kinds of content
Curated headlines. Our news pages collect headlines and short summaries from established South Florida news outlets — including local television, newspaper, and public-safety feeds — and from official sources such as the National Weather Service. Every curated item names its source and links to the original reporting. We write the short summary for scanning; the reporting itself belongs to the outlet that produced it, and we send readers to them for the full story. We do not republish full articles from other outlets.
SFL Today Originals. Stories labeled as SFL Today Originals — explainers, deep dives, and weekly roundups — are written by our own team. They draw on multiple sources, which are listed at the end of each story, and they add our own context, timelines, and local knowledge. Originals carry a byline and a publication date.
Standards we work by
- Attribution is not optional. If we didn't report it, we say who did and link to them.
- Weather and safety information comes from official sources — primarily the National Weather Service — and is labeled with its source and issue time.
- No invented details. Our original stories use facts we can trace to a named source. Allegations are described as allegations; audit findings and official claims are attributed to the bodies that made them.
- Directory listings are compiled from public business information and submissions from the businesses themselves. A listing is not an endorsement, and Premium placement is always labeled as Premium.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Send corrections — with a link to the page and what should change — through our contact page. Factual errors in our original stories are corrected in place; errors in a curated headline are fixed or the item is removed, and the source outlet is the right place to report errors in their underlying reporting.
Advertising and sponsorships
SFL Today is supported by directory Premium listings and advertising. Paid placement never changes our news judgment: sponsors do not approve stories, and paid directory placement is labeled. See our privacy policy for how advertising technology on this site uses cookies.
